West Coast Pump Weekend Rules for 3-man Fun Tournament
These are the general guidelines and rules for the tournament. Other rules, not covered here, may be incorporated by the head ref before or even during the tournament, if the need arises.
Teams: 3-man.
Game Scoring: Teams will have the opportunity to score a maximim of 100 points/game. Points are awarded for:
First Flag Pull 15 points.
Each live player at the end of the game 5 points.
Flag Hang (ends the game) 70 points.
After each game, the Captains will approach the "Score Keeper" and confirm the game's results.
Game Time Limit: 4 minutes
1. Penalties: We are pump players and this event is meant to be played for entertainment. There are no large prizes at stake here. Everyone is expected to police themselves and play with the highest respect for their opponents and themselves.
Hot guns (velocity limit is 300 fps). Referees will randomly check any or all players before, during or after a game. Also, any player may ask that an opponents' marker be checked immediately after a game. A field ref will take both players and chronograph both markers.
1a. If a player is found shooting hot before a game starts, he/she has up to 2 minutes to get the marker shooting consistently below 300 fps.
If he/she fails to do this within the 2 minutes, his/her marker will be removed from the game and that player then has the option to play the game without a marker. No penalty points will be applied.
1b. If a player is found shooting hot in the 300 to 310 fps range during or immediately after a game, this will result in a 25 point penalty.
1c. If a player is found shooting hot above 310 fps during or immediately after a game, this will result in a 50 point penalty.
2. Hits. As per the 'standard' paintball rules. A paintball must break and leave a quarter sized mark.
Penalties for playing on after receiving a valid hit:
2a. Unobvious hit (1 for 1)
2b. Obvious Hit (2 for 1)
2c. Wipe (2 for 1)
We strive to keep Pump Play a game of honour and cheating will not be tolerated. Additional consequences of 2b and 2c will be living in shame amongst your fellow pump players. Don't do it to yourself!
3. Paintchecks: If you are unsure of a hit, stop shooting and ask a ref to check you. You are not neutral until a ref touches you.
3a. if you continue to shoot or move on an opponent after calling a paintcheck and you are found to have a hit you will receive a penalty.
3b. You may call a paintcheck on an opponent. Excessive paintchecks or using paint checks to gain a positional advantage will constitute Un-Sportsman like conduct.
4. Un-Sportsman like conduct: Players will receive warning for un-Sportsman like conduct which include but not limited to: Swearing, playing on, excessive paintchecks, etc. If a player or team receives excessive warnings, the player or team will be withdrawn from the tournament (Don't make us go there!).
Markers:
All markers must be manual pump action only (no PA, no converted electros). All pump strokes must be a minimum .68” to chamber a ball.
Paintball Consumption:
There will be a limit of 80 paintballs carried onto the field by each player (including paintballs loaded in feed tubes and hoppers or other loading devices and those carried on a player's body). If you are using a loader that holds more than 80 paintballs, you will be asked to load 80 paintballs (we will provide ball counters) just prior to the start of your next game in the presence of a referee.
This tournament is being played for fun. The referees are not going to count out 80 paintballs for each player, each game. However, if a referee suspects a player has more than 80 paintballs, he may inspect and count the paintballs. If a player is found to have more than 80 paintballs in his/her possession at the start or during a game, he/she will be pulled from that game.
If you have any questions or concerns about any of the rules, please e-mail us.
